Basil Leaves

The name ‘basil’ is derived from the old Greek word basilikohn, which means ‘royal’, reflecting that ancient culture’s attitudes held towards this herb were very noble and sacred.

There are various kinds of  basil. The various basils have different scents because the herb has a number of different essential oils which come together in different proportions for various breeds. Cool, huh? The most common basil scents are lemon, clove, camphor and licorice.

Basil  is very sensitive to cold, with best growth in hot, dry conditions. It thrives in strong sunlight. It behaves as an annual if there is any chance of a frost. Keep that in mind if you keep your plant outside!

If you wish to propagate your plant, it can be done in two ways – from seed or from cuttings (with the stems of short cuttings suspended for two weeks or so in water until roots develop).

Yellow leaves towards the bottom of the plant are an indication that the plant has been stressed. Usually this means that it needs less water, or less or more fertilizer.

Taj Mahal aka "Crown Palace"

Taj Mahal was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, in the memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

Apart from being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

The name Taj Mahal, with Taj meaning Crown and Mahal meaning Palace, literally means ‘Crown Palace’.

The construction work on Taj Mahal was started in the year 1632 and carried on for the next 16 years, ending in 1648.

It is believed that 20,000 workmen, who worked on a daily basis, were involved in the construction of Taj Mahal.

Taj Mahal is made purely of white marble, which was brought from the quarries of Makrana, in Nagaur district of Rajasthan.

It is said that as many as 1000 elephants were used to transport the white marbled used in construction of Taj Mahal.

Rockbitch Band and Golden Condoms

Whoever caught it, would have sex with the band members. It was an all-female rock band that became famous for performing nude, and having sex and Pagan acts at their performances. You could say they were on the forefront of sexual liberation and excess.

Gullfoss, found in southwest Iceland, is one of the country's best natural wonders. The Golden Falls, as the name means in English, are one of the most popular attractions in the country, and Gullfoss together with two other nearby sites (Pingvellir National Park and the geysers at Haukadalur) make up the Golden Circle. This popular day-tour exposes visitors to the beauty of the wild Icelandic landscape, and the volcanic island is home to geysers, glaciers, incredible wildlife, and also an impressive set of waterfalls.

The Hvita River flows into these Iceland waterfalls. Traveling in a southward direction, the wide river appears to vanish downwards to visitors on approach. The great crevice that forms Gullfoss Iceland can’t be seen on the initial approach. Extending to 105 feet in depth, the Golden Falls are an impressive sight. Once a better view is gained, travelers will see that the formation of the waterfalls resembles a staircase, and the water tumbles in two stages. This makes seeing Gullfoss Iceland all the more dramatic.
