Leh Ladakh the ‘Snow Desert’

Leh is the land of pure atmosphere that offers treasured memories to the visitors. Ladakh is a high altitude mountainous region lying between the Karakoram Range the Great Himalayas. Leh is popularly known as the ‘Snow Desert’. For close to a millennium, it was an independent mountain kingdom of strategic importance.

Ladakh experiences considerable fluctuations in the day and night temperatures, even during the summer. The region at an awesome altitude, ranging from about 2,750 meters at Kargil to 7,672 meters at Saser Kangri, is known as the coldest dessert of the world. While the days are pretty warm, sometimes even hot due to the effect of the rugged topography.
